Indian Team Squad for West Indies Tour
Board of Cricket Control in India has announced team squad of Indian Team for India vs West Indies, 2009 tour
As thought, injuries and fatigue has put India already on back foot for their ODI Series to West Indies. Indian Team will

MS Dhoni (capt/wk), Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Pragyan Ojha, Yusuf Pathan, M Vijay, S Badrinath, RP Singh, Praveen Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Abhishek Nayar, Ashish Nehra, Ravindra Jadeja, Dinesh Karthik.
miss their four best players in the squad for the four ODIs in the West Indies. Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina were said unavailable due to Shoulder Injury and Hairline Fracture on the thumb respectively. Sachin Tendulkar asked for rest while Zaheer Khan was given time to recover his shoulder injury caused in IPL. Earlier in IPL, Sachin Tendulkar got injury in figure during the IPL Season 2. Suresh Raina, a middle order batsman will be replaced by S Badrinath of Chennai Super Kings. The selectors also dropped Munaf Patel and Irfan Pathan, who went to New Zealand tour just before IPL Season.
Murali Vijay, will take Sehwag’s place as an opener. Ashish Nehra, who was hero for Delhi Daredevils in the Season 2, was picked in the squad after long 4 Years of absence. Another bowler, Rudra Pratap Singh (R P Singh) was also selected in place of lazy Munaf Patel in 16 Man Squad. All rounder Ravindra Jadeja was put in the squad for absence of Sachin Tendulkar while Abhishek Nayar was chosen against Irfan Pathan’s place.
This would be first time when Selectors were having no good choices. Virendra Sehwag, who has been said one of the dangerous Opener of the world, will be missed by his team and Millions of his fans. Also, Master Blaster absence could leave team India as inexperienced team in this tour. Keeping Munaf Patel in spite good performance in the New Zealand tour could be risky. Murali Vijay, Test Opener in the Domestic, may not prove useful in the ODIs. West Indies are known to protect any trophy or series within their country. They have even beat Australians, South Africans on their tour.
Whatsoever, Indian Fans will forget what happen in the Twenty20 World Cup and will watch this tour very aggressively.
